The Shaker kitchen has survived for good reason. Simple cabinetry, useful details and honest materials make it remarkably difficult to date. The trick is keeping it on the right side of traditional. Contemporary lighting, good hardware, natural timber and a few carefully chosen pieces bring the classic Shaker kitchen firmly into the present without losing what made it work in the first place.
